Vehicle description
1967 Shelby GT 350. This car was sold new on May 15, 1967 at Republic Ford in Houston, Texas. This Dark Moss Green beauty came from the factory with Automatic transmission, factory air-conditioning, Magstar (Deluxe) wheels, tinted glass, AM radio, tachometer, power steering and power brakes. The Marti report verifies this information. This Shelby has gone through a complete ground-up restoration beginning with a chemical dipping. The body was prepped and professionally painted with all original sheet metal in its original color. All mechanical features were restored or rebuilt. The engine is not the original, but is a date correct 289 High Performance engine that is freshly rebuilt and balanced. The original matching number automatic transmission goes with the car; however, a Ford toploader 4 speed transmission is now installed. The original air compressor has been restored to original specs and the original C7ZZ tag is still attached. The car has the correct under dash Stewart-Warner gauges and the correct EPPI real wood Italian steering wheel. The Magstar wheels are new reproductions as are the Goodyear Speedway white letter 350 tires. The original 9” rear end is in place with the Shelby only 2 ½” rear drum brakes along with the four piston front disc brakes, and the original leaf springs are in the car. This car was purchased disassembled and appeared to have been apart since the mid 1970’s. Many of the parts were wrapped in Houston Chronicle newspapers dated circa 1975. The last year the car was registered was 1973 and the current title was issued in 1973. This Shelby had not been registered with the Shelby American Auto Club before 2016 and was listed in the registry as whereabouts unknown. It has since been registered with Dave Matthews, the 1967 Shelby registrar with an almost complete title history along with registration receipts for several years. The Ford VIN number will be provided to prospective purchasers for verification purposes. Restoration photos are available. Mileage shown is what is on speedometer. I have no way of verifying it. The car was restored in 2017 and 2018 by a 30 year Mustang/Shelby enthusiast and recently completed. It has less than 50 miles on since completion. It is available for inspection in Tyler, Texas, which is halfway between Dallas and Shreveport. It is accessible via Interstate 20 or American Airlines (American Eagle).
