Vehicle description

1967 Satellite GTX TRIBUTE 440 Super Commando Automatic Air Conditioning ONE OWNER!
This car started life as a Satellite with a 318 engine. We converted it to emulate a GTX model. Careful attention was taken to make it as accurate as possible to a real RS23. The car was bought new by the owner"s father back in 1967 in Southern California. We installed a 440 engine and transmission from a 1969 New Yorker that had just 35k miles on it.
We stripped the car to bare metal and replaced the roof skin as it has rusted from the vinyl top. The rest of the car was very solid and still wears all of it"s original sheet metal. The car is painted in PPG Base Coat/Clear Coat. This job was done approximately 13 years ago. At that time the restoration work we did was good work but not to the quality standards you see today on the show. This is a very good looking car that drives and runs amazingly but it"s not perfect. It"s a great or above great "driver quality". It needs nothing and is ready to cruise.
It has only been driven a few hundred miles since the restoration, even though it was over 13 years ago.
Known Work Performed (at time of restoration)
Rebuilt engine-.030 over, Balanced 10:1 forged pistons, 292 Comp Cam, 3 angle valve job, hardened valve seats, new rings, bearing, gaskets. Rebuilt Transmission-Shift kit, 3,000 stall converter Interior-New seat kits, carpet, dash pad, headliner, package tray, door and quarter trim panels. Exterior-Replace roof skin with used. Strip to bare metal, repair body damage, Base Coat-Clear Coat. Re-chrome front and rear bumpers. Clean and polish original trim. Replace windshield. New wheels and tires Rebuild brakes, steering and suspension.
While this is not a perfect car, it"s one of the best old cars we"ve seen here. It starts up easy, has a bad ass idle and runs hard. EVERYTHING WORKS including lights, gauges and air conditioning. It shows extremely well but up very close there are signs it"s an older restoration.
