Vehicle description
True story: Mecum auctions was in Denver a couple of weeks ago and I was irresponsibly bidding on things I had no business bidding on. Anyways, I get stuck with this gem. You can see this car go through the auction here: https:/ youtu.be/TPHO-IPbCIM?t=27641
Anyways, I drove it home from the auction. It runs great. Starts up every time. The brakes are a little janky. I think only the rear wheels have breaks (they"re good though. I can lock them up if I had to) and it runs a little hot. My mechanic noticed it"s missing the fan shroud. perhaps that"s the culprit. I dunno.
The engine is strong. I"ve never taken it over 50 mph (because of the janky brakes) but I don"t have any doubt it would cruise 80 or 90. Easy.
The body is nearly flawless. no rust. The odometer states 20k miles, but it is probably 120k (or even 220k) I don"t think there is any way to know.
I"ve been driving it around and have a couple hundred miles driving to work and around town. My kids think it"s great fun. It gets tons of compliments. But I can"t keep it :-(
This whole adventure was an accident and I don"t have the time or $$ a 50 year old car requires. the title (clean Colorado title) arrived today so It"s time to sell. I"m about $10k deep into this thing. I"ve set the reserve well under that. It"s my hopes and dreams that this has a happy ending. I"d like to get some (or all ) of my money out of this and this amazing car can find the home it deserves.
