In 1958 the Santana Motor Co. of the Andalucia region of Southern Spain secured a licensing agreement to build Land Rover Series models in their factories - Costa Rica was home to their Latin American assembly plant. The last 5 years I"ve lived in the Costa Rica rescuing and restoring rare barn-find Landy"s that were used to work the rugged terrain of their coffee plantations in the 1960"s and "70"s. I"m a true Landy enthusiast.
In Costa Rica I supervised the 2-year restoration of this very rare 4 door "67 Land Rover Safari 109 IIA soft top. I personally exported this vehicle to Port Everglades, FL and had it brought in covered transport to Newport, RI (current garaging location). I have CR title and notarized CR traspaso, detailed journal and receipts of all work, & export/import/transport paperwork. Still has very cool CR registration and emission stickers on the windshield - ALL goes with the truck as it"s all part of her history.
Clean and authentic period specific truck. Rebuilt with pride and attention to detail. Super fun buggy for round town or a Sunday evening ice cream cruise with the family or car-hop showoff - real unique head-turner! Great classic big-rig addition to any collection.

-black on black on black -exterior body stripped down to bear aluminum and painted base coat clear coat black -interior body (and main parts of chassis) was painted complete with a special anti-corrosive paint (Pour 15) -motor was pulled, salt blasted, primed and painted Corvette orange -new pistons, rings, seals, glow plugs -new injectors and calibrated timing -new custom fabricated 304 SS fuel tank -new electrical from front to back with ALL wires marked with what their function is -new Autometer gauges -new military rims and tires - qty 6 stripped down and painted rims with brand new skinny tires (4 for the truck, hood spare and rear hatch spare) -original rebuilt locking front hubs (almost impossible to find anywhere including England) -new braking system (literally every brake component you can think of is new) -upholstery is complete waterproof marine vinyl for those beach days -soft top is new custom marine grade with double waterproof seam -new custom rubber mat interior-custom ARB style front and back bumpers -custom front light-bar -custom roll-cage under the soft top - stack surfboards out of sight -new Warn Industries 8000 winch -new Bosch halogen fog lights - 6 total (4 on light bar, 2 in the bumper) -new dual battery system -new 250 amp high output chrome GM alternator (needed to run a winch, Halogen light bars) -safari snorkel -new door handles and locks -new Landy turn signal lenses and reverse lenses -new seat belts to pass US safety requirements -new high and low pressure power steering hoses -new steering wheel nut -new pivot bushing for 4WD knob inside the truck
