I will do my best to give the most accurate description possible of this Camaro. I know what it"s like to buy a car on the internet and have someone over state the condition of the car and take pictures that only show the good stuff or try to put "lipstick" on problem areas that should be honestly disclosed to any potential buyer. I recently retired from over 30 years as an Air Traffic Controller but I have been playing with late 60"s muscle cars since I was a teen so I"ll give you my best take on this car. The car w as sold new here in Salt Lake City in December of 1966 and, from what I was told, has had one repaint in 1986. For being over 30 years old, the paint is actually in amazing condition and has a deep glossy shine to it. The door and fender gaps are clean and consistent and the body panels are flat with no dings or irregularities. There are a few chips in the paint but I can"t even detect a door ding. The worst issue with the paint is shown in the picture of the passenger front fender. There is a horizontal scratch about 9 inches long that looks like it may have been caused by a kid"s bicycle pedal when backing out of the garage. It scratched the paint but didn"t crease the panel. Interior of the car is very nice and upholstery is clean and tight with no issues. Seat belts are original and show some wear but function perfectly as does the fold down rear seat. Gauges are clean, clear and operational and the dash is very nice. All of the glass is clean and clear and operational. The BFG Radial T/As are in beautiful condition with very low miles and lots of tread and the wheels, caps and rings all look perfect. The door panels are really in great condition with the exception of the carpet panels on the bottom of the doors looking pretty thin. The trunk is clean and solid and if you look at the pictures you can see a hint of surface rust beginning due to the previous owner storing the car with a trunk mat covering the surface. I would steel wool and re-shoot with spatter paint but I wanted to show it the way it is. The undercarriage is very clean and solid. The motor compartment is clean and neat and looks just like the pictures. Everything works exactly as it"s supposed to including the hide-away headlights that snap open and shut with zero issues. This is not a pristine, number one Garage Queen or Trailer Princess. This is a solid, no B.S, honest 53 year old car that has been driven, shown, cared for and garage stored its entire existence. I would be proud to drive this to any local car show and she will represent with honest class. The choice is yours. This car can be enjoyed just the way it is or you can decide if you want to take it to the next level. T he very best thing about this car is how it runs and drives ! If the car has been stored for awhile it takes a few pumps on the gas pedal and she fires right up. After that, it"s just a flick of the key. Acceleration is very responsive and the 350 engine and dual exhaust have a nice deep, throaty sound. Transmission runs through all gears smoothly and the suspension is updated and the manual steering is tight and true. The clutch could probably use an adjustment but I"m kinda picky about that and it"s ultimately a personal preference. This car is truly a blast to drive! The great thing about 1967 is that the Trim Tag shows exactly what equipment this car was born with when it was new. Trim Tag Info for any of you Purists out there: 11B = November, Second Week.
