Vehicle description

1967 BUICK GS400 with the famous Starwars aircleaner. Running and driving but not quite road worthy yet. * *Walk around video link below.* *
I bought this car because I"ve wanted one for 30+ years. I had all the intentions of restoring it. But I have too many cars and not enough space for all of them. So I have this and my 71 Lincoln convert for sale. Whichever sells first. I"ll keep the other. I know I will end up regreting letting this one go if it sells first! But I just do not have the time or space right now. I would have to cover it and leave it in my driveway over the winter. So here we go. .
True numbers matching 67 GS400. Strong running 400 engine. Starts easy. Idles nicely after warm. Sometimes will give a puff of smoke when starting. But the more I run it. The less it does it.Trans shifts fine. New voltage regulator and master cylinder. Brakes will need to be bled, cleaned and adjusted. Newer battery and stainless steel dual exhaust.
The car looks really nice going down the road or sitting from 10-15 feet. But when you get up close. The paint is old, checking and cracking. Nicks and chips all around. So it looks nicer in the photos. There is a dent at the front of the hood. It is an older repaint. If I were to guess. Done in the 80"s or 90"s. The 1/4"s and lower fenders have been repaired. Those repairs are starting to show their age. Especially the front of the driver 1/4. The trunk floor is shot and needs to be replaced. I bought both 1/4 skins and a lower right fender patch panel for the repairs. They may not be necessary. But I bought them anyway. There is also a small section of the frame behind the driver fender that will need a welding repair. Besides that. The frame and other floor boards are solid.
The interior is original and really clean. But does show age. It has the sought after bucket seats, console shift with tach options. The lower section of the driver seat is ripped. Carpet is faded.
Convertible top works great! Canvas on the convertible top was replaced roughly 8 years ago. Still looks fairly new. The car has been mostly sitting in a garage the last 6-7 years. I also have a boot for the top.
4 clean, original Buick roadwheel on Firestone tires. I also have a spare roadwheel thag will be included.
Issues to address before being regularly roadworthy. The brakes and mentioned earler. Top plate of steering gear has a gasket leak. Gas gauge only works between 1/2 and full. So when it shows half. it"s close to being empty. I found that out the hard way. Plus I would do the trunk pan and frame patch before regular cruising.
I have several other photos available. I"m happy to answer any questions from serious buyers.
If you"ve read this far. You probably are familiar with these cars. Their value has been climbing. People that don"t want the more common GTO, Cutlass or Chevelle. Are looking for one of these. At the time I started this listing this. There was a red one listed for $59k and a yellow one that bid up to $45k without meeting the reserve. I believe they are asking $52k for it. Yes this one is a project. But that"s why I"m asking about half the price of those others. So if you can do most of the resto yourself. Or have a reasonable shop you trust. Either way you will have a great investment on your hands.
* * Please ask all questions, have all funds available and shipping quote before making an offer. I would like to speak to any potential buyer before removing this listing. I"ve been burnt before by people that don"t follow through. That has cost me money. So I am extra cautious.* *
All funds must clear my account before the car or title are released. I live very close to an interstate. So if you plan to have the car shipped. It"s an easy pick up for your transporter.
