Vehicle description
1967 AMC Rebel four door sedan. More pics of interior coming shortly.
Here"s the good stuff: Engine starts on the first bump every time, and runs well. I rebuilt the carb recently, it runs cold-blooded at first, the choke may need some tuning. Brand new Goodyear RS-A tires on brand new 18" wheels. Tire size is 245/45/18 Brand new shocks front and rear. Rears are Gabriel Load Assist with secondary spring. Fronts are KYB monotube. Brakes work great. New Battery in October I dropped the fuel tank in October, thoroughly cleaned it and reinstalled it. Brand new exhaust from just under the engine all the way back. No rust on the top half of the vehicle, A-pillars and drips rails are in amazing shape. Rear seat, headliner, and door panels are all in very, very good condition and all original. Odometer reads 40K miles. I purchased the car from Rover Classic in NJ, but it came with a Missouri title. Seller claimed this odometer was accurate and had not rolled over the 100K mark, but I cannot back this and do not know any vehicle history past this.
Here"s the bad stuff. Car was originally all white. At some point many years ago, someone sprayed the body a mint green color. Most likely a low budget single stage paint. The roof of the car is still the original white paint from the factory and it"s in great shape. The green color is varying thicknesses across the car and is past it"s lifespan. The car has a cool "patina" or "barn find" look to it as-is, but don"t expect to be getting a glossy, show winning paint on this car as it sits now. The transmission slips in reverse, there is a band in the transmission that needs tightened for it to work properly, but I would honestly recommend a full trans rebuild, I don"t think it"s every been out of the car, and it"s 54 years old. Rebuild kits are cheap for this unit. It drives perfectly in forward gears. There is corrosion on the floor pans, and rear of the car. The frame between the wheels is solid.
I would consider this car still very much a "project car". It does look decent and drives fine, but needs a fair bit of TLC before I would recommend driving it regularly.
Car is located just north of Dallas, TX. I can assist loading it onto any transport for the buyer.
