Up for bids is this 1966 Volvo 122 Amazon. This 122 had been owned and maintained thoroughly in the Northwest by the last owner of 29 years. The last owner purchased this 122 from the owner who owned it since new, paperwork goes back to 1971. This survivor comes with small dings, scratches, old paint and some paint chips but the thing you won"t find on this one is corrosion or rust. Please see over 20 photos of the undercarriage in the dropbox link along with a walk around video.
All electrical works as noted. The horn, turn signals, lights, fan and wipers all work as they should, even the bright lights foot switch! Aftermarket radio is functional.
This 122 is powered by it"s stock B18 (1.8L) engine and a 3 speed automatic transmission. Both are in great working order and the compression is above 140 psi in all 4 cylinders. The driving video documents a zero to 60 speed at just above 18 seconds. While not considered a fast car, these engines will maintain great balance and easy of use for a long time. A recent oil change, new spark plugs, timing adjustment, valve adjustment and carburetor balance have all been done. The generator is charging fine and the brakes have a firm pedal.
The stock rubber interior floor mat (with the letter V on the driveline tunnel) is an indicator of original flooring, very rare. The red upholstery looks to have been redone in the 80"s with stock red/black texture pattern. The headliner has a small seam in the rear about 2 inches that"s a bit loose. (see photo) The backseat top has come unseamed as well. The stock top dashboard does have cracks. Additional matching vinyl does come with this 122 to fix the rear seat.
A thick stack of paperwork is included all the way back to 1971, a real treat to have all the original records. This 122 comes with 2 sets of keys, a clear title and a set of studded snow tires. Also the stock jack and small tool kit is included.
The undercarriage has ZERO rust or corrosion, a real treat to see! The stock 15" rims have stock hubcaps and the wheels are dates stamped to 66".
Auction Ends February 3rd at 6:30pm PST / 9:30pm EST
