Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle is an original with updates to the exterior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes Sold as-is where is. Vehicle Details 1966 VW Beetle. Original sunroof. Restored on pan with all new paint and body. Very straight car. Finished in Porsche Slate Grey. New weatherstripping, original glass with exception on new windshield. Restored beautiful red interior with cocoa mats. Sunroof hardware, cables etc all new and Wolfsburg West. Speedo cluster rebuilt. New gauges. Restored German Grundig radio in dash (needs to be hooked up). All new stainless trim, New Ivory steering wheel, pedal assemblies, pads. Parking cables. Window cranks etc new. All window mechanisms serviced and work properly. Seat frames were blasted, restored and powder coated ivory. New headliner. Upholstery work and sunroof restoration completed by Rods VW in AZ. New complete WW wire harness. Carpeted trunk. Gas tank cleaned and painted. Under the car is all new. Steering, suspension, brakes, lines etc. floor had the passenger battery area replaced. The undercarriage is painted and clean. Bumpers are new WW. Motor is a rebuilt stock 1600dp with rebuilt transaxle and freeway flyer gears. Car drives, steers, brakes excellent. New skinny WW tires installed on wide 5 rims when completed about 2 years ago. A couple touchups due to small chips during reassembly. Just over 300 miles on car since finished. Things needed: Hook up restored Grundig radio to new speaker. Needs new firewall insulation. I bought a new one early on in the restoration but it started to fall apart when we installed it. It wasn’t a cheap one either. Just haven’t installed a new one. Gas gauge is off and needs to be reset properly. Obviously this isn’t a restored correct 66. I wanted the grey/red color combo and drivetrain. Wasnt going for “correct”. Wanted a great looking/driving Bug that kept its humble vintage look but I took tasteful liberties. Everyone loves the color. I get compliments all the time. Lovely VW. Clean Calif. title in my name. Private seller. Inspections welcomed. Honest nice car. I’m letting the auction run 7 days. Bid to win if interested. Contact me with any questions regarding the VW. I will add a video this weekend. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
