Vehicle description
1967 GTO Convertible 4 speed
I have a real 1967 GTO 4 speed convertible for sale. It runs and drives but needs some work to be roadworthy. It was originally a gold car with gold interior and at some point it was painted red. The repaint is older and has many cosmetic issues but it shines nicely for a driver quality job. The gold interior was also painted red as you can see some of the original gold color showing. The car comes with new red seat covers. Looks like the top is the original cream colored one and it goes up and down without issue but has a couple tears in it. After I decoded this GTO I found the drivetrain is all original to the car, except the engine and carburetor setup. It is a 1968 400ci with a 1965 Tripower on it. It starts right up and runs well but could use a tune up. The transmission shifts nicely but you will have to service the clutch. The brakes work but one of the front calipers grabs before the other, so it probably has a sticky piston. The body is all original panels and has some rust in the rockers, rear inner wheel wells and quarter panels. This Pontiac"s body and frame are straight, no evidence it was ever in an accident. The frame on this convertible will also need some work done right behind the front wheels. The frame is not compromised from the rust, I watched when I raised the car on the lift and there was no structural flex outside the norm for a convertible. The odometer shows 49271 but actual mileage is unknown. Overall, this is a great car to start with, especial ly when the prices for a real deal restored 1967 GTO convertible 4 speed are going through the roof. Restore it or fix the mechanicals and enjoy it. Here is your chance to own one of the most iconic muscle cars ever made!
