This 442 is decorated with a L69 V-8 to the 4-4-2"s engine bay. That"s Lansing"s factory-built Tri-Carb 400, the first triple-carb Oldsmobile since the J2 package disappeared nearly a decade before. A trio of two-barrel Rochester carbs, with mechanical (not vacuum) throttle linkages for faster secondary response, sat upon an iron intake manifold. The intake featured a pair of clever exhaust heat-riser block-offs, one on either side of the center carb.
