1966 Karmann Coupester This Karmann Ghia was found in Mendocino County outside of Willits Ca. sitting under an old oak tree filled with acorns. I purchased the car from Yokems body shop in June of 2017. I then trailered the car to Tucson Arizona for Redline Service to do a complete body-Off restoration. The car was sandblasted down to bare metal and the body removed. The chassis with new pans installed was the send out to be powder coated. New drop front spindles were installed along with front and rear disc brakes and a set of KYB shock absorbers. The wheel pattern is set up for wide 356 lug and adapters to install five lug factory Porsche 356 factory 15" chrome wheels. The body was sent to John Holloway (Holloway cars) in November of 2017 where it underwent a two-and-a-half-year body and paint restoration Paint color Porsche Miami Blue. A 1962 corvette fiberglass cover was modified and adapted with its original hinges to fit the rear seat area making it a Porsche speedster look. ( Cost was $29,500) The engine was built by JRC enterprises in Paradise California (before a wildfire burnt it down) It is built to 2286 CC and 140+ Hp. The entire car has less than 700 miles on it. ( See build sheet) The transmission was built by Joe Chiro performance VW and has a taller 2 nd and 3 rd gear with a freeway flyer 4 th gear. Joe C hiro also did an engine out modification to the front seal and added an EMPI sway bar to the rear. Fuel induction is by way of a pair of Italian Weber"s 40mm carbs. This Ghia received all new cabling, wire loom , new front windshield, a retro -look Bluetooth and usb port stereo . All lights are LED and new LED gauges by Speed hut It has a Race mark steering wheel recovered and stitched in black leather. It has a rear seat delete metal pan to create a spacious luggage compartment and all the carpet is German square weave in charcoal gray. With custom made coco mats . A pair of 1968 911 factory seats completely rebuilt. It has custom made exhaust headers with new mufflers and tail pipes. The car is capped off with a silver powder coated custom roll bar and matching vinyl stripes to break up the blue paint. This car is well sorted out, fast and ready to drive anywhere.
