I purchased this car over 7 years ago as a 25+ year stalled project.It was represented to me as a 1 owner (Prior to the person who began the original rebuild) car .I had no reason to doubt that claim given the condition of the project. The work up to that point had been good but the pile of new and refurbished parts that came along with the project was simply extraordinary! Not only was the parts collection amazingly complete, but every single part. nut, and bolt was "Tagged & Bagged", and really well too! I spent more time removing tape glue from parts than you would believe. I am a life long hobbyist who has specialized in Jaguar Sedans. The 3.8S model happens to be my personal favorite and I have (and am currently) "DOING" a number of these elegant machines. If you ever get the chance to drive a well sorted example you will completely understand WHY this model was the #1 choice of both the "Coppers, AND the Villains!", in 1960"s England. This sleek black and Red Beauty will most definitely stand out in any setting.
What has been done?How much left is there to do? These and any other questions I am happy to answer. I have taken loads of photos over the years and as I said earlier I am knowledgeable on the model "S"Type, in general and this car in particular. I have no idea how much money or how many hours the previous owner put into this project, I can"t be sure , but after tinkering with these cars myself for over 50 years I know it was a bunch! I Can however guarantee by photo, and records that over the last 7+ years "I" have Spent hundreds of hours and many thousands of dollars. So all in all I believe it to be a good value and a rare opportunity to Start your Classic car collection Way Way up the road!
