Vehicle Details 1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown Sedan This is a beautiful original example of a 1966 Imperial Crown Sedan. This vehicle was purchased from the original owner about a year ago and has undergone a few repairs and some maintenance to become a reliable driver. The original Certicard is present along with the owners manual and some other interesting brochures for Chrysler outboard boat engines and furnaces. The Imperial has been a dry souther Colorado car since new. Joe the original owner had the Imperial repainted back in the mid 80's the original dark red metallic. The paint is showing its age, and is far from perfect or show quality, but it presents well and glistens in the sun. There is not real rust or any sort of rot on it. Two small spots of some bubbling rust on the rear deck filler panel, and one small spot on the passenger side front fender. That is it. The underside is immaculate, and all of the original undercoating is present. The interior is all original including the carpet, seats, door panels, and dash. The chrome is beautiful, and the real wood paneling is nice as well. The headliner was removed due to split seems and will need to be replaced. All of the bows are present and accounted for. The only other piece that could use some attention would be the dash pad. There is a large split as seen in the photos. All of the gauges operate great, and the ribbon speedometer works perfectly. Everything in the interior operates except for the rear windows. Both power vent windows operate as well as the front door windows. Even the original AM radio and rear speaker work! The original air conditioning system is complete and the compressor turns on, but the system does not produce cold air. With a fresh recharge of R12 I'd bet it would work great. The original numbers matching 440 runs excellent, and is smooth as glass. No smoke, no knocking, etc. The original carburetor was recently rebuilt and the fuel tank was replaced with a new one along with a new sending unit. Fuel pump and filter as well. The original ignition system was serviced including new points and condenser, distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires and a set of spark plugs. I've driven the car on quite a few long trips, 100 to 200 miles each way and it hasn't skipped a beat. No overheating and maintaining 75+ on the highway is effortless. All off this being said, if you have any questions or would like to call me please don't hesitate to do so. It's a beautiful original car that you can drive anywhere.
