After 30 years, it’s time to let her go to a good home. This car is a nice driver. It could be show quality, but it will need some TLC to get it there. For years I have been doing work on it, collecting parts, making things work, but I have other things taking me away from this car. This is an original 283 power glide car built in Janesville. The engine was replaced with a Corvette 1965 327 according to the stamped numbers on front. Although the engine was rebuilt about 5000 miles ago, it sat for years while body work was done and the cam has a bad spot on number 8 cylinder. Car runs and drives, but the valve on number 8 will cause it to smoke since the cam is bad. The paint is not great. I was disappointed when a friend painted it. There is an oil leak, most likely from a rear oil seal leak. Frame weld at S in front of rear wheel and at front right strut. It shifts fine, but sometimes moving forward, the gear and indicator is off one space and I’m told this is a simple fix, but I just haven’t crawled under to adjust the linkage. It needs a new bushing underneath, easy fix. All panels are nice, but left door has a small spot that could use a little work and is only noticeable if you are on your knees looking for it. That’s all the bad. Now for the good. Things purchased for this car: New bumpers New side trim New top New top motor New top cylinders and lines New NOS wheel moldings New Seat covers New door panels front and rear New arm rest and Crome mount Original front seat belt retractors Front fenders/ quarter panels New floor panels for entire car. Car includes a bunch of nice glove box literature, owners manual stuff, etc. Car has all emblems for all sides. Buyer is responsible for pick up and or all transporting arrangements. In closing, the paint makes this a driver. Car has been garage kept and has no visible rust. I only say visible because the car is 55 years old. To my knowledge, there is no rust. A new paint job and recommended new 350 roller cam and rear seal will make this beauty complete. I hate to part with her, but she needs a new caretaker. Clear title.
