Vehicle description

Up for sale is one of the nicest Volkswagen buses on the planet. This " Funky Bad Ass " real deal German VW 13 window bus is not a 1968 or later Brazilian Bus or cloned deluxe bus. It’s the real deal and the registration numbers prove it. I am the second owner of this west coast bus and have restored numerous vehicles. The ground up restoration of this vehicle is too numerous to list, but I will give it a shot. This bus had little or no rust or rot from the start and what little there was, I replaced with metal patch panels. It was taken down to bare metal, had professional body work and a custom paint job with custom lime green gold and pearl-white three-stage paint and multiple layers of clear. The paint job and body work alone was $25,000.00. it would be tough to find another bus with door gaps and finish work to this caliper.I brought it to a VW show matter of a fact the only show I"ve ever taken it to and won best in class and best in show. The whole suspension was dropped and the front end was narrowed to accommodate custom 17” aluminum rims and tires. Wilwood disk brakes were added up front, and I installed a rebuilt motor with twin carbs, an oil cooling system and custom exhaust and a Rancho freeway flyer overdrive transmission. I installed a custom green interior, headliner and carpet to resemble the patterns and feels of the original VW interiors as well as a custom Westphalia stainless steel and wood baggage tray in the rear of the vehicle. I removed the fried egg blinkers from the front of the vehicle and cut, shaved and tucked in the rear and front bumpers. I also removed the original tail lights and installed 1959 bus tail lights for a cleaner appearance while maintaining the original vintage feel. I added pop out windows to the two back side windows and chromed all the side windows as well. I also added front and rear pop outs and a Westphalia stainless steel luggage roof rack. It has a new wiring harness and all electrical components have been restore or replaced with new components. All handles, cover plates, brackets, glass, nuts and bolts have been refinished or replaced with new. This bus is a labor of love that took me five years to complete with attention to every detail. It’s kept in a climate-controlled garage and has been lovingly used over the last couple of years. It’s a breath taking beautiful, dependable and road worthy bus, with modern upgrades making it easy and a pleasure to drive in modern traffic and at high speeds. This bus is a jaw-dropping crowd pleaser that generates smiles and crowds wherever you go,ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. Would be willing to trade only for a Porsche 356 or a 3 window or roadster 1935-1936 ford finished or Projects and cash. As is where is. I would be more then happy to help with the shipping details on my end if needed. Please call me with any questions from 830 am-8 pm Eastern Standard Time. Thanks. Dan
