Vehicle description
1966 AMC Rambler American 550 4 Door Automatic.
A project car I started working on with my dad up in Washington then moved down here to California. Odometer reads 36k but there"s no way that"s correct on a "66. It runs and drives well, takes awhile to warm up however.
Alternator, Carburetor, Starter, Wiring harness all replaced, also gaskets, recently timing was worked on at shop. Probably needs to be rewired and there"s a laundry list of things to fix on this, for not for the faint of heart. But it"s still a head turner even in the shape it"s in. I can"t tell you how often I"m stopped by someone to chat when I drive it every few weeks. (It"s not registered in CA btw, I just drive around the neighborhood on Sundays to keep the engine happy).
Original 3.2 Engine. Interior has seen better days and I pulled the carpet in the front as there was a leak in the window I had to fix that soaked the flooring. Drum brakes, and powered by your arms steering. Radio works, paint is in good shape, no clear coat though. There"s some rust here and there, again it"s def a project car, but from th e place I got it in 2017 she"s actually running and doing much better - but needs someone to give it even more love.
