Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1965 Volkswagen Karmann-Ghia is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle needs work. Seller"s Notes The photo of the handwritten note is for information only- it is from the original owner about the extra engine that comes with this and I have no idea how to verify what’s listed on it, but if you’re knowledgeable look at the note and look at the photos to see if what’s listed is correct. Vehicle Details 1965 Kharmann Ghia - barn find - engine is not currently in the vehicle, both the original engine, as well as a newer engine come with the vehicle which is disassembled (see photos). I have been told the newer engine runs however I am not a mechanic and had originally purchased this to pay to have it restored, however we are building a new home and this is no longer a priority for us. I have the title, clean in hand. The vehicle is not driveable, and you are getting exactly what is pictured with it, both engines as well as any additional parts new/otherwise which are pictured. The previous owner stated it had been sitting in a Midwest barn for 28 years. The car is white but I believe the original color may have been red based on seeing red in the trunk area. The transmission is still in the vehicle. I believe this vehicle is in a prime state for restoration work— and the previous owner was going down that road with the new engine. I have a handwritten note in the documents that came with it that states the engine in pieces is “1635 CC stroker”, I have no idea how to verify that so please view the photos of the parts laid out. The engine has allegedly been “bench ran on stand” so I do not know why it is now taken apart but that seemed promising to me when I purchased it. Overall I feel there is great potential to get this back on the road with a little work, especially if you’re familiar with older VW engines. The odometer reads 3200 miles. I’d be surprised if that’s not turned over, probably can’t trust that it’s got 3200 original miles on the original motor. This is a collector car, which seems to be getting snatched up, restored, and couples cruise around in them, maybe go to a drive in? That being said, it’s obviously sold as is, you get what’s pictured, and you either have the money to have it professionally restored or the skills to do it yourself. You will have to pick up this vehicle yourself, from Darlington Indiana. I will meet you if you purchase it on site and sign over the title once paid in full.
