Vehicle description

This 1996 Westfield SEi is an updated and modern recreation of the famous Lotus Super Seven of the 60’s. This example was built at the Westfield factory in England in 1996, and first titled in the US 1997. Factory documentation is available. It is powered by a 4 cylinder, 1700 cc Kent Crossflow producing approximately 140 horsepower. Induction is via twin Weber 40 side draft carbs, specifically tuned to the high-performance camshaft. The engine is designed to rev freely to 7000 RPM and is limited via a digital rev limiter, coupled to a modern electronic ignition system. Lubrication is via a race style dry sump system. The motor was built approximately 5000 miles ago by Sam Nelson of Cummings, Georgia, who is long known for superior engines. Paper documentation of the rebuild is available. Engine runs perfectly throughout the RPM range, especially when it is “on the cam”, and has always been limited to 6500 RPM. Aeroquip hoses are used throughout, and there are zero leaks. Red Line racing oil and K&N filters have been used exclusively. The chassis is space frame tubing, aluminum inner panels and fiberglass body, which allows for the light weight of approximately 1100 lbs. Transmission is a Ford Sierra T9 5 speed, coupled to a fully Westfield engineered independent rear suspension , final drive is also via a Ford Sierra Limited Slip differential with a ratio of 3.9:1. Front and rear suspension s are equipped with fully adjustable Nitron coil over shocks, and adjustable sway bars. Braking is via 4-wheel discs with AP Racing 4 pot calipers on the front and AP Racing master cylinder. Brake and suspension upgrades alone cost over $4000 in 2008 . There are 2 sets of wheels plus a spare wheel /tire. 1 set are the original Westfield wheels, while the installed are German made ATS brand (15x8), wearing Yokohama? ? ?., which are a perfect street/track combination. The Interior has been upgraded to lightweight Lotus Elise upholstered in leather, as well as a competition style quick release steering wheel. Simpson 5-point Quick Release seatbelts are on the driver’s side with 4 - point Willans belts for the passenger. Further safety comes from a custom made SCCA spec roll bar. Full instrumentation even includes a clock and rally style map light. All gauges and electrics operate properly . Weather equipment includes a functional heater, full convertible top, side curtains, and tonneau cover, together with a custom-made weather proof storage cover . There also is a lockable trunk and custom-made luggage rack. The windshield is brand new with zero chips/scratches. This is a car that is street legal, registered as a 1965 Lotus Super Seven and can also be very competitive for slalom and track days. Assembly, wiring, and plumbing have all been professionally done. This car is turn key and needs nothing to be instantly and dependably enjoyed by the new owner.
