Vehicle description
1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass Coupe, Matching Numbers 330 4BBL C.I. V-8 Engine, 2-Speed Powerglide Automatic Transmission, 3.42 Limited Slip Rear Axle, power steering & power front disc brakes.
This California Black Plate Car was shipped to Massachusetts approximately 10 years ago and underwent a complete frame-off restoration that was completed a few years ago. The original paint was stripped and very minimal rust repair was done, including a new trunk pan. The body was painted gloss black base coat / clear coat. The frame was painted with POR-15 rust preventive paint and new shocks, body bushings, fuel lines & brakes lines installed.
The original 330 4 bbl engine was completely rebuilt with a mild camshaft added, an Edelbrock carburetor, HEI Ignition and Thornton dual exhaust manifolds. The complete new aluminized dual exhaust system included Dynomax long body turbo muffles for a nice mellow, but throaty sound. The original 2-speed Powerglide transmission was completely rebuilt with a new torque convertor. The original rear axle was upgraded to an Eaton Limited Slip unit with 3.42 gears.
The Cutlass has refinished Olds SS III 15" x 7" Factory Ralley Wheels with new B.F. Goodrich Radial T/A Tires, 255/60R15 rear and 215/70R15 front.
The interior was completely reupholstered with new white seat covers and all new foam. All the interior door panels and rear quarter panels are also new, along with the black carpet. The original automatic console has a Hurst Pro-Matic ratchet shifter installed to look like it came from the factory. There is an aftermarket stereo installed covertly inside of the glove box with rear package tray speakers.
This car runs and drives excellent and is considered a very nice driver. It is not an award winning show car, but a car you can take to cruise nights and enjoy. There are a few minor issues that will need to be addressed. This car is not mine, I am listing it for a relative. Please call me @ 978-360-9898 if you have any questions or would like to schedule an in-person inspection. He would prefer to sell it locally, but will assist in shipping if necessary.
