Vehicle description
I am having to relist my MGB due to a winning out of state bidder with unrealistic demands. He asked if he could fly in and restore the car in my back yard, when I refused he asked me to rent storage in my name for 3 months and have the car towed there so he could restore it in the storage facility (90 miles from my house). If you think these are reasonable requests please don"t bid on my car. I understand the logistics of picking a car up during a pandemic so the winning bidder will have up to 14 days to have the car picked up and 7 days to pay in full.
This is a no reserve auction for a 1965 MGB that has been in the same ownership since 1972 and stored in a central California barn since 1985! This MGB was parked in 1985 when the clutch went out and the owner decided to repair it himself, he removed the engine and transmission and then gave up. The car has not ran since then. When I got the car I reinstalled the drivetrain just for transportation purposes and it will need to be removed and rebuilt. The whole car is in need of a total restoration but it is structurally sound with rust damage confined to the passenger side footwell and passenger side dogleg (just in front of rear wheel) The doors have good shut lines and all the glass is original Triplex. The engine is original to the car. It does have some damage to the front passenger inner fender where a truck backed into it in the early 1980"s but it is very repairable (see video and photos) I have the pink slip dated 1972 (California title) and the car comes with all the framework for its stowaway top and an original jack. It also comes with a period correct hardtop which has glass windows instead of the standard plexiglass, a first for me. Please view my video for further information. Bidders with less than 3 feedbacks contact me before bidding or your bid will be cancelled. I can help arrange with shipping to the docks if the MGB is being exported, cost is about $350 to Los Angeles or San Francisco. No reserve auction.
