Vehicle description
Very nice driver quality rare V8 car resurrected after a long slumber inside a west Texas garage
Several months ago we found this rare V8 automatic car in west Texas while looking at a Volvo 1800 for my collection. Car had been painted years ago, and then parked inside a west Texas garage. Owner passed away, and the car became available.
We brought it home, added a new convertible top, a new convertible top boot, new period correct skinny whitewall tires (not period correct in that they are radials, but it does improve the driving experience), rebuilt alternator, carburetor, water pump, and put it back together. Bumpers were replated, and a rare rebuilt gas tank (2 year only piece) sourced from Galvin Automotive (Rambler specialist) in Lodi, CA.
My tech did a major tune up, full brake job including master cylinder, and many minor little things it needed.
Since then it has been driven about 500 miles. Have too many toys and not enough storage.
Please buy outright or make REASONABLE offer. This cute cruise queen is priced less than half what you would pay for a similar Chevelle, Fairlane, Coronet, or Belvedere.
Most Ramblers of this vintage are "stripper" 6 cylinder econo grannie cars. This is a mid range, rare V8, automatic cruiser.
Radio does not work; best solution is to have it upgraded to modern specs, as these are odd pieces with two holes in the dash which cannot be easily replaced with something more modern.
Sold AS IS, WHERE IS, local pickup.
May consider shipping at buyer"s expense.
