Vehicle description

A very nice original American. Top of the line 440H hardtop. Sweet running 232 engine that purrs, automatic shifts like butter. I really love this sturdy little Rambler, but too many cars and moving, just can"t keep them all. Bought from a friend who moved to Colorado from California, this American is rust free and solid as they are from California. While I had the front in the air to replace a shock bushing we saw that the steering is perfectly tight, zero play, and the rest of the suspension is tight as well. Body is straight and nice, some small dings and faint dents, and paint is tired out, so it really needs new paint to be nice. One little bubble that could be some rust on one quarter panel or some repair? and there is a repaired place on the trunk floor, not sure what that was, but repaired correctly. Interior is tired, seats all intact and solid, but under the old seat covers the cloth is due for replacement. Haven"t registered it for the road, but driving around my property, runs nice, starts right up, steers nice, brakes good. Glass all good, except windshield has a crack. Tires look good, have tons of deep tread, but they are older in age. I noticed the speedometer kind of bounce"s, fuel gauge might not work. Trying to have full disclosure, some minor problems typical of the age, but all and all, one of the nicest original American hardtops around. I also have an extra almost complete set of the upper aluminum trim pieces in good condition that I"ll include, and I have a parts car with a nicer grille in the back that I would include that grille if the buyer wants that as well. During the last auction I had buyers interest in driving the car to their home, even to Canada! As stored in my barn for several years and not having registered the car, I hadn"t had experience out on the the road. So I drove the car to our neighboring city, 70 mph on the Interstate, and it just cruises along with no problem, other than the speedometer. I"ll try lubricating the cable and see if it makes a difference. But now I don"t see much problem driving it a distance, I just hadn"t really drove it that much. I rate the car between a 4 to much closer to a 3, so I"m right in the Price Guide figures. I don"t have the inside storage space anymore for the car so this is my third auction. A wild ride indeed. The first auction I had two bidders at $3500, but my reserve was slightly higher. The second auction I had two bidders at $3000, but both didn"t follow through with the sale. So here we go again! Good luck everyone. Happy to discuss the car, call Duane at 303-570-2812
On Sep-14-17 at 16:50:31 PDT, seller added the following information: Added some underneath pictures, no rust or damage, just the normal from just over 100K miles. There is a spot in the trunk area with some metal welded in, (as mentioned previously), maybe from a muffler issue?, but looks very professional. Trunk picture shows spare with original factory jack and lug wrench.
