Vehicle description
Beautiful 1964 Pontiac Catalina with incredibly low miles, 46,114, as demonstrated by the lack of wear anywhere in the vehicle. Everything is original except replacement of parts that deteriorate with age, noted below. The cloth seats have no tears or wear, even in the driver position. The dash has no cracks. The steering wheel has no gaps or discoloration. The headliner looks new. The door panels look new. The chrome has some discoloration and blemishes due to age. The 389 V8 engine is strong and runs smoothly. It is the 11H version with 267 horsepower.
New matching red seat belts were added. The exterior red was repainted in the early 80s and still retains much of its luster. The white top has never been repainted and has some discoloration from rust staining, as shown in the photo. The vehicle has been stored inside and never driven in snow. There is no rust through or visible rust, even behind the wheels or trunk where it typically occurs. The car is not brand new and does have very minor scuffs in interior, exterior and windshield. The red paint has developed minor imperfections over time. The car is sold as is. It is available for further inspection and test driving. All operations are believed to be functional except the radio produces only static and needs a tune up. Replacement of items that wear or deteriorate due to age, regardless of mileage, has included the following: new front springs new ball joints new rear springs new outer tie rod ends rebuilt power steering gear box new front and rear shocks stabilizer links all body to frame mount bushings replaced new Coker American Classic tires alignment steering coupler
This stunning car definitely turns heads with its beautiful two tone color scheme and classic style. It offers the soft, spacious, comfortable ride that large 60s American cars perfected, along with the power of the Pontiac 389 used in muscle cars. So it is the best of both worlds in one vehicle. It handles well, steers accurately and brakes smoothly with no pull. Even at 95 mph there are no rattles, shimmies or difficulty maintaining control, and there is plenty of power and acceleration left. I have had 4 64 Catalinas, and this one is remarkable for its beauty inside and out, low miles, completely original condition and practically no wear. It is a true time machine. It can be driven and enjoyed with no necessary work. Or, it offers the possibility of conversion into a spectacular show car without extraordinary rebuilding and restoration. It has the benefit of not being driven, wrecked or ruined by rust or amateurish restorations and alterations over the last 55 years. The provenance of the car is that up until 5 years ago it was owned and maintained with pride by a family in Pennsylvania that had a Pontiac dealership. I bought it 5 years ago and have driven it a few hundred miles. Relocation forces me to part with this wonderful car. For anyone interested in mid 60s Catalinas, this is a rare opportunity.
Great price for quick sale! Offer will be terminated in December and vehicle donated if not sold by then, so if you"re interested please come look, drive and/or make an offer. Thank you.
