Vehicle description
Up for auction is a 1964 Pontiac Bonneville convertible. This car has a very reasonable reserve. The car was being restored and a lot of work had been done to it before the gentleman passed away. I purchased it off of his estate.
This Pontiac is in very nice structural shape. What appears to be original Saddle Bronze Iridescent paint is on the car looks decent, but will need to be replaced to be show quality. The interior appears to be original as well and will need replaced. The top has holes in it, and will also need replaced. The power top works, but the system needs bled. The tilt wheel works properly. The only rust on the Bonneville is a small spot on the passenger side wheel well, (picture included). During the restoration process, the front floor boards were replaced. The back seat floor pans, and trunk are original steel and are in excellent shape. The undercarriage was repainted after the floorpans were replaced. It also appears that the complete front suspension has been rebuilt. The tie rods, ball joints, and front shocks are all new. We are also told that all the glass has been replaced.
The 389 was rebuilt 10 to 15 years ago and has had next to no use since. It does start and run very nicely. The block suffix is 18M, which translates to a 1964 389, but came from a car that was air conditioned. This car is not a factory air car. The four speed turbo hydramatic transmission was also rebuilt and shifts very nicely in all gears. Unfortunately, we do not have any receipts on the work that"s been done. The heater core has been bypassed, and will need replaced. The brakes will stop the car, but not very well, and will need addressed also.
This is a great car with a lot of the expensive work already done! This would not be a budget buster to make perfect, or could be enjoyed in it"s current condition.
I will allow ample time for pickup, however FULL AUCTION PRICE MUST BE PAID IN FULL WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION ENDING. Thanks!
