Vehicle description
Up for bid is a 1964 Plymouth Fury 4 Door Sedan with factory original white acrylic enamel paint and blue cloth/vinyl interior. Equipped with the factory 318 cubic inch 230 BHP poly "wide block" V8 engine (2 barrel), push-button 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and factory AM "All Transistor" radio that still works.
This vehicle starts, stops, drives and handles extremely well with no abnormal noises, no fluid leaks, no vibrations, no wandering, and no overheating. All accessories function as they should with the exception of the heat/cool/defrost control which needs a new cable.
The exterior body paint still has a nice glossy finish but does have the normal small scratch and dent blemishes normally associated with a vehicle of this vintage. There are 4 areas of primer where a previous owner performed some repairs to the body. These areas are located on the passenger rear quarter panel above the wheel opening, the front corner of the driver front fender, and the extreme lower portion of each front fender (dog leg) just behind the wheel opening. The exterior body is rust-free except for a small area of rust bubbles forming under the paint on the drivers side corner of the cowl panel at the base of the windshield to the extent that allows water to leak into the interior.
Aside from the normal replacement of items such as filters, hoses, belts, and tune-up components, this non-smoker "time capsule" remains amazingly close to factory original. From the battery hold down under the hood, the owners manual in the glove box, and the bumper jack with lug wrench in the trunk, this Fury is a real survivor in every sense of the word. Even the factory "build sheet" that was inserted under the rear seat cushion when this car rolled off Detroit"s Lynch Road assembly line has survived the test of time. As testimony to its extremely low miles, this classic still has what appears to be the original water pump, alternator, and shocks, as well as many other factory components.
The non-original items include a new carpet, new fuel tank/fuel sending unit/fuel pump and filter, and a power front disc brake conversion from the factory manual drum brakes.
Comes with the factory stock 14" steel wheels with very old (late 1970s?) matching E78-14 BF Goodrich polyglass-belted white wall tires and original full wheel covers. Also available for an extra $200 is a set of 2007 Dodge Charger police pursuit 18" black steel wheels with P225/65/18 black sidewall pursuit tires.
Vehicle is sold "as is" with no warranty so please review the photos carefully and ask any and all questions prior to placing your bid.
THIS IS A "NO RESERVE" AUCTION SO HIGH BIDDER WILL WIN THIS VEHICLE!
