1964 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday. Condition is "Used".
I have owned the car for 20 years. I bought the car out of Michigan,from an older man. He always kept it inside for the winters, which is typical for the midwest. Classic cars only come out in the summer. He said he never let it get rained on. I also have never let the car outside if I even thought it might rain. I"m originally from Michigan. He said he bought it from original owner out of Kentucky,where it was sold new from a dealer. I brought the car back to Nashville Tn after i purchased it, where I lived. I know live in Florida for 3 years with the car, always inside. I"m sure the miles are not true as we all know. I don"t have all the documentation since 64. The car is basically rust free. there is no rust under the car.
The car is very clean and mostly original. Engine needed to be rebuilt 13 years ago. I had a long time family friend Jack Slone with Slone Boys Racing rebuild the engine. At the same time I had the transmission completely rebuilt. Jack took the Rochester 4 barrel carb off and replaced it with a 650 or 750 holly. I should have not have done that. I had the Rochester rebuilt and never got around to changing it back. I have all the original parts to put back original. AT the same time I had the whole front end redone with a bushing kit. New wizzard radiator. power steering gear box,new brake lines, new speakers,new tires, every part inside the drum brakes are new. The car will stop on a dime. The car purrs like a kitten. It shifts effortlessly. Has strong power. The windows all go up and down faster then any car I have seen. . lol All turn signal,head lights,reverse and brake lights work like they should. Gas and clock gauges do not work. I pulled the plastic air condition tubes out from under the dash to replace all the vacuum hoses as they where cracking and brittle. I replaced all lines, got busy and never reinstalled tubes. The heat worked great but ac needed to be converted. Windshield wipers work. horn does not work.Radio lights come on, but of course its not working as I installed an alpine . Radio is hanging from bungee cord. Front seat power works. I just installed new rear shocks last week 2/13 2021. Car has an electrical fuel pump, but the original pump I kept. You can drive this car anywhere and never worry about breaking down.
I hate to sell the car. I have treated it like my kid. I bought the car when it said around 19,000 miles. In the last 13 years after getting engine and trans rebuilt and many other things rebuilt or replaced to original pieces from Kanter Auto out of new jersey, have hardly driven the car. It just sets in the garage. I"d say I have put maybe 5000 miles on it since. It will not leak a drop while driving or going into a place. .come back out. .not a drop on the ground. Let it set over night. .come out and there is a few drops. You have to love old engines. .lol She barely leaks I just add a little. Ebay does not let you load enough photos. I"m not paying $100 for 24 pics
