Vehicle description
MG MGB Early 1964 MGB roadster with original 3 main engine and factory installed overdrive transmission. Car is 100% complete but needs restoration. Car was originally British Racing Green. This is a California car, still wearing the blue license plates issued to it circa 1970. I have the California pink slip signed by the previous owner Although a California car, it is not totally rust-free. A leaky or no top resulted in the driver side front floor board heavily rusted but with only a small area rusted through, as seen in the photos. The passenger side is much less rusty and is solid with some original paint showing. Rear floors are similar but less rusty on driver side with no rust holes. Trunk floor is rust-free. The rockers, lower front fenders, doglegs, and rear wheel wells are better than most MGBs but not perfect. The lower part of the driver side front fender shows no sign of rust, as does the rocker panel under the door. The dogleg area shows a few tiny rust bubbles and the top of the rear wheel well shows evidence of prior repair. The passenger side front fender has a small dent above the turn signal, and shows a few rust bubbles in the lower edge behind the wheel. The rocker looks ok but there is a small amount of rust bubbling in the dogleg and some old repair in the upper edge of the wheel well. Photos of these areas can be sent if requested. The pull handle doors are rust free. The car has a complete uncut steel dash, all instruments are the original Jaeger. The overdrive switch and bezel are original. It has an original BMC labeled radio (non-working). It has the correct aluminum hood and nice riveted style grille.Mechanically the car is complete. When I purchased it in 2006, I ran it for a few minutes until I noticed gas leaking from several places from bad fuel hoses. The temp, oil, and tach gauges worked at that time. It has not run since, but I recently installed a new battery and the engine still turns over freely with the starter. The engine number plate number is 18GA-RU-H 963, indicating an overdrive equipped car. All overdrive system components are present. Since 2006 some work has been done as follows: Complete front end rebuild including king pins, bushings, tie rod ends, rotors, etc.; new stainless exhaust (Falcon I think); Rebuilt SU carburetors. New parts installed including turn signal switch, heater valve, clutch slave cylinder, fuse block, throttle and choke cables. The following extra parts and accessories are included with the car: Two soft top frames, the folding type (on car), and stow away frame with storage bag; tonneau bars with bag and nice original black tonneau cover; original jack with bag; extra set of seats with crusty original leather on them; original SU fuel pump (car has aftermarket cube type on it now); extra pair air filters; extra original points-type distributor (working Crane electronic conversion on car now); misc new and used small parts in boxes. Please ask any questions prior to bidding; I will do my best to answer them. Car is available for inspection and pickup in Pueblo, Colorado. It is stored in a garage and arrangement can be made to store it there for a reasonable time prior to pickup as long as full payment has been made. All shipping arrangements are buyer’s responsibility.
