Vehicle description
1964 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan Wagon. This is a mostly original and nearly rust free runner driver. The only rust was the battery tray and just under it on the inner passanger fender. I replaced the tray and treated the rust on the inner fender. (If the inner fender was replaced, this would be 100% rust free) When the carpets were replced the floors were inspected and are amazing as well as the spare tire well and the hatch area. . ALL RUST FREE. This is a 289, auto car purchased in Vancouver WA. and lived its entire life within a few miles of its originating dealership. I purchased the car from the estate where the Grandfather purchased new and handed down to his son, the son passed and I was able to buy the car. The car is not perfect. . .It has some stories to tell for sure. The left front fender was repainted at some point in its life. The drivers front door has a couple dings as do both quarters and the right rear rocker panel has a dent. The hood has fantastic patina and the roof is extremely straight and its a smooth top with drip rails so adding a rack/carrier would not be to tough. This car does not have the 3rd seat option. so its a 6passanger wagon. The car runs and drives, the steering ram leaks and should be rebuilt. It puffs a little smoke on start up (NOT BAD) the motor idles smooth and trans shifts smooth. The speedo shows 94k but impossible to verify. The car sat from 2005 (last tagged year until I purchased the car in 2017) The car could use shocks but we only use it for a few local car shows and cruise nights to haul the group around. I took out the original radiator and fan and replaced with aluminum and an electric fan for better temp control on warm summer nights. And I replaced the stock wheels and tires with some 17" black chrome wheels and tires. (I have the original radiator/fan and wheels -one trim ring) All the exterior lights work and all the interior lights worked* * I drove the car to a local event last week and the dash lights were not operating? The fuel gauge does not work. I have a Washington clean title (not in my name) and the corresponding documents from the estate to license the car. The car gets a ton of attention everywhere we drive it. We love the car but I have to many other pending projects and am out of room. Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions.
