Vehicle description

1964 Crofton four wheel drive BUG / Steyr Puch Haflinger . Here"s a rare opportunity to own a very unique vehicle , a Steyr Puch Haflinger that was sold in the USA under the Crofton company name as a Crofton 4WD BUG , (titled as a Crofton). Included with the sale is a factory Crofton sales brochure that is documented proof showing that Crofton did sell these vehicles. Unfortunately as John Crofton began selling the 4WD BUG in addition to his mini BUG jeeps, his company went under, leaving this 4WD BUG as being one of only a handful that may exist under his company name. As far as it"s condition, it was non running when I first got it. I have cleaned and sealed the gas tank, cleaned the carburetor, replaced the brake master cyl , brake wheel cylinders, brake hoses (the 2 rear hoses still need replace but I have new ones included in sale) and I"ve fixed the electrical rewiring that was ruined. The vehicle now runs and drives - but still needs further attention. It wants to load up after awhile and gas fouls the plugs, I think a really good carb rebuild would solve this issue. It also has an exhaust leak, the tires are old and dry rotted but still old air. The body is still in great shape as you can see in the pictures with surface rust only and as you can see it needs a repaint. Everything still appears to be on the vehicle, headlights ,blinkers and brake lights work as they should. Top and doors are in good shape (one door window straps are missing so the window will flap unless held closed with something) overall interior is in good condition, seats , dash , steering wheel are all still nice, it has a factory rifle mount that I added a pellet rifle to for display purposes only and the pellet rifle is not included in the sale. I don"t think you will ever find a more unique vehicle as this, so if you are a Crofton BUG lover or you are a Steyr Puch Haflinger lover , here"s a very rare opportunity to own something that I think you will find no one else does. If you would like more detailed information about this vehicle before bidding please feel free to contact me at and I will try to answer any questions you may have.
