Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1964 Chevrolet Impala is a project vehicle. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle needs work. Vehicle Details This is a 1964 Impala SS I bought about three years ago with the intentions of restoring. The car had been sitting in a barn in NC since 1993 with the rear of the car sticking out. This caused several rust issues that have been repaired. The car came with a 327 that's not rebuildable and a two speed power glide transmission. I did start restoration a couple years ago. Started with all the mechanical issues. Replaced the following. New Moog front end rebuild kit, Moog coil springs, new front power disc brake conversion kit, new power steering slave cylinder, return and pressure hoses, power steering control valve, and power steering pump. New shocks front and rear, new upper control arms, powder coated lower ones. The two speed power glide transmission was rebuilt. The rear end was gutted and fitted with an Auburn posi gear with 373 Richmond ring and pinions. New U joints, rear pan hard stabilizer bar, and control arm bushing and rear axle bearings. New gas tank, straps, filler hose and clamps, sending unit and fuel line. New rear brake drums, shoes, wheel cylinders, adjusters, and parking brake cables. Due to the car being partially exposed for several years there were several rust issues the mechanic wanted repaired before continuing on with the build. These were structural issues with the floor pans, trunk pan, body mount supports ect. The following rot was removed and replaced. Floor pans, trunk pans, rear body mount supports, body to frame brackets, rear wheel house box brace cover, and body mount bushings. Front and rear quarter panel patches, left and right tail light mounting panels, and inner rocker panels installed. Rot at bottom of doors, hood, and trunk was also repaired. I have new body side moulding clips SS and new under hood and trunk bolt kit along with all the original bolts to put it back together. I have $8,500 in receipts for new parts that's been installed or rebuilt not counting labor costs. After 13 months of patiently waiting for the metal work to be completed it's finally done and so am I ! I don't need to sell but I'm ready to move on and let someone else finish it.
