Vehicle description

Offered here for sale for the very first time is this beautiful 1964 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible.
The big news for the 1964 model year was that Cadillac introduced an all new powertrain. The 429 CID engine with 16 overhead valves in the V8 configuration. Along side this powerful engine in introduction, also came the GM Turbo Hydra-Matic transmission. The 1964 Fleetwood Eldorado showcased a new level of performance with a new spirit that even still now is unavailable in a car of such dignity. The Fleetwood Eldorado series now consists of only one model. This was also the finale for the legendary Cadillac tail fin. The 1964 model was merely a dressed-up version of the Series 62 without fender skirts. Since the great, 1958, Eldorado has had actual body panels unique only to it. Every Eldorado for "64 received its "open rear wheel wells" (no fender skirts) which could only be specially ordered by a part numbered rear-body section.
The Eldorado for "64 was the ONLY Cadillac to have ALL door and seat surfaces completely upholstered in leather. The "64 Eldorado was the ONLY Cadillac delivered with white-wall tires as standard equipment.
For 1964 Cadillac introduced the industry"s first fully automatic heating and cooling system: one set of the dial and the temperature selected was maintained year "round. The 1963 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Sport Convertible was priced at $6,600, approximately $2,000 more than the previous year and $1,000 more than the 1963 Series 62 Convertible. Despite the price increase, production rose to 1,825. The price of the 1964 Eldorado Biarritz convertible rose only slightly, to $6,630, and production was nearly the same, adding 45 units for a total of 1,870.
Motoring had achieved a new “Standard of Excellence” in the 1964 Fleetwood Eldorado convertible. Cadillac was still the leader offering eleven models in three series. The 1964 Fleetwood Eldorado was nearing the end of the rear-wheel-drive generations from 1953-1966. The 1964 Cadillac was the last to use the iconic tail fins. The 1964 Fleetwood Eldorado was a superb example of the craftsmanship and attention to detail that made the Cadillac the internationally known “Standard of the World.” Will Cadillac ever return to such prominence without compromise? probably not so here’s your chance to own one of the last great Cadillac automobiles selling here on at a 5-Day no reserve auction. Place your highest bid to win. Bid with confidence. I am a power seller here on eBay. I have great ratings so you can bid confidently and comfortably knowing that you are getting what is described. No letdowns or surprises with this one.
Body And Paint
The body is super straight without orange peel or waves. There are no dents, or major scratching. The paint shines nicely and looks great. This Cadillac has a ‘driver quality’ paint, not concourse.
Interior
All of the upholstery is in excellent condition. The seats are in great shape, no rips or tears. The dashboard is perfect with no cracks, door panels are all in good shape, except for the driver"s door pull strap. The pull strap has come loose. The carpet is in great shape, the headliner, and all of the convertible frames look incredible.
Running Condition
The car runs great. This Cadillac fires up every time. It"s smooth at idle when stepping on the gas. When you kick down to passing gear this transmission shifts through all gears very nicely. The brakes stop nice as well, no leaks are present.
Glass & Chrome
All of the glass is in good shape with just a few minor rock chips on the front windshield, nothing noticeable. The chrome looks great and shines nicely, except for one spot on the driver"s front side lower bumper. If you zoom in, you can see the minor imperfection.
Electrical
All of the electrical equipment seems to function well. A/C blower motor comes on but does not blow cool. I recommend a service. The radio comes on but I have not successfully received a clear station. All of the windows function as they should. The top goes up and down with no problems.
Undercarriage & Trunk Compartment
The trunk does have a few rust spots as well as the undercarriage. I have included a few photos of the rust issues, please keep in mind this car is not a rust bucket. It does have some rust which is expected for a 1964 car. Nothing that couldn’t be repaired.
These cars are getting very hard to find and are only continuing to go up in value. Please note, you cannot compare the 64 base Cadillac convertible model to the 64 Cadillac Eldorado model. This listing offers a Eldorado model, a completely different car. The Eldorado model is very hard to come by, so don’t lose your opportunity to own this fine Cadillac. With all that being said good luck. Bid to win.
