Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 1064 Buick Riviera project. A complete car but was taken apart for restoration, down to bare metal. I purchased this car a year ago to have as a project, having wanted one from back in the 60's. My intentions took a turn when my wife was involved in an accident in September on the interstate, being crushed between two semi trucks. Needless to say my endeavors as a mechanic have been replaced by becoming a care giver dealing daily with doctors and rehab.I have put in excess of 10k in the restoration, but it will need someone who really wants a challenge to reassemble it. It will need to be picked up with a large truck as there are a lot of loose parts, especially in storage. I doubt a shipping company will want to mess with it. The body is very straight, stripped down to bare metal, but is in need of some rust repair in the lower back window channel and trunk floor. I have replacement panels for the trunk. The frame was completely disassembled, sand blasted and painted satin black. All of the front and rear control arms, as well as the differential and backing plates were stripped and powder painted. The rear differential has new bearings and seal, while the housing has new seals, bearings, brakes, cylinders and hardware. The front brakes have been converted to disc. New brake lines and hoses.all new bushings if all of the front and rear control arms and panhard rod. New shocks at all four corners. The constant velocity two piece driveshaft has been rebuilt, as well at the T400 transmission. The core support parts and the inner fenders have been stripped and powder painted as well. The 425 engine, standard bore, has been disassembled and all parts inspected, but not yet rebuilt. 4 bbl. carburetor is there as well as both exhaust manifolds, but no exhaust system. The interior is all there, just disassembled. Upholstery and headliner are actually in good shape. All glass, with the exception of the windshield is there and good. Two spoke rally steering wheel on a tilt column. This is a full power car, but does not have A/C, which seems to be pretty common for the early 60's. Lots of new parts including body mounts, engine and trans. mounts as well as a lot of new body hardware and trim clips. Power steering box as been rebuilt and installed in what is considered a rolling chassis. All of the stainless trims and emblems were sent out to a local chrome plater and are in storage. All in all this will be a beautiful car with everything pretty much there, but in need of someone up to the task.
