1964 RAMBLER AMERICAN 440 CONVERTIBLE This vehicle has been in the family for several years, has seen it’s fair share of car shows and taken home a few trophies along the way. As with most 50 plus year olds, they are always a work in progress. About the only item not yet replaced is the original windshield, which has some pitting and a wiper scuff. Vehicle is driven and shown often, so there are a few minor nicks on paint. When I purchased this car, the initial 196 CID 6 cyl engine was evidently replaced by a 199 CID from a 1965 American according to present engine serial number and obvious appearance. · 91020 original odometer reading on chassis · 86000 odometer reading at time of rebuild on 199 cu in OHC 6 cylinder · 85300 odometer reading at time of rebuild of 3 speed auto T-35 transmission · Reupholstered seats, doors and carpet · Restored vinyl convertible top & plex window, fully functional top motor, linkage and latches · Restored original paint color · Colorado vehicle, no visible rust · Bright chrome and stainless trim · Original AM push-button radio (fully functional) · Restored weather strips on doors, hood, deck lid and fuzzy window channel sweeps, (unable to locate new rubber corner seals where convertible top meets top of windshield) · New exhaust and muffler · Restored drum brakes and OEM front suspension trunion bushings Additional parts: · 4 bias ply tires in the event a fully original display is required for film, TV or print work · Chrome & rubber bumper guards (1 pair) · Chrome Bucket Seat trim bezel · Additional original owners manual · Promotional Brochures, dealer window sticker and print ads
