Vehicle description
1963 Volkswagen Beetle - Classic. Condition is "Used" non-running project. I purchased the Beetle from a classic car dealer in Connecticut in April 2016. In the first two years I added 213 miles. The Beetle had an ignition issue and upon picking the vehicle up from the mechanic I was told that he heard a knock in the engine. I brought the car home and it has been parked in the garage since. Beetle did run when it was parked. The car appears to have a 1966 1300cc engine given the F0 engine code (F062222). Original listing from when I purchased the car. ."Very original 1963 Beetle that has a Judson Supercharger. This car was found in a warehouse in Connecticut where it had been sitting since 1969. The paint is 95% original and the upholstery is also mostly original. The odometer reads a little over 27,000 miles. The car was sold new at the 5th Avenue Volkswagen dealership in New York as indicated by its original decklid decal and decal on the glovebox door. The original owner installed the wide wheels and the supercharger sometime before storing the car away in 1969. I had the Judson rebuilt by George Folchi in New Milford CT and I also went through the brakes, fuel system and checked everything in the front end. I also installed a stainless steel vintage speed performance exhaust also replaced all four tires. The floors are perfect in this car which is amazing for an east coast bug. The only place this car has any rust is a small amount in the rear quarter panels but overall the car is in fantastic original condition and really has great original patina." There is a small bit of rust under the windshield on the driver"s side as noted in one of the photos. I added the roof rack and interior dash basket.
