Vehicle description

1963 Studebaker Avanti Project Car, R1 with factory A/C, and automatic transmission. Offered by The Vault Classic cars dealership, Fullerton, CA . 714-401-1047. Check out our other Ebay auctions this week !
It has a clean Title with a North Carolina assigned VIN, so it can be registered in any state or exported to another country. the original VIN is still on the frame and legible, 63R4008. The body is nice and straight, I couldn’t find any evidence of accidents. The bumper chrome is recent, as are the valvecovers. The paint job is atrocious. Lots of overspray, it needs a repaint. The glass is good except for the windshield, which is a new one, but they cracked it while installing. The stock 289 V-8 ran for me for a very short time, so I know it will run. Cranks with the key. There’s a new, correct 3EE “Suitcase” battery in the car. The brakes are totally non-functional, the former owner attempted and failed to put big modern disc brakes on it, so the brakes will need parts and attention. So the car will ROLL and STEER, but not brake. Shipping companies need to know this. There is rust in the frame and hog troughs. There is also surface rust on other items, maybe a salt air / beach car. They disassembled a bunch of things when it went to paint, and it’s not all back together. There are some missing pieces. KNOWN MISSING PARTS: Brake booster, and a variety of other brake components. Glass headlight covers Stainless trim on top and below the windshield. ( the A-pillar pieces are included) Ignition shielding Air cleaner Rear bumper guards Wheels – currently it has some old mags which don’t really fit, and are only held on with 3 lugnuts. You’ll need to buy replacement stock wheels Doorpanels hubcaps There are certainly going to be other things you’ll need to find or buy also, smaller items. This car needs a lot of work, but could certainly be restored, or be the basis for a restification / upgrade / hot rod .
