Vehicle description
Up for your consideration is a fantastic example of a 1963 Plymouth Savoy Max Wedge 2 door post sedan Recreation. Please call or text me before purchasing this car, Thank You ( Free Shipping to the lower 48 states with an Enclosed Van ) This car was built and assembled in California when New. It left the plant with a slant six engine and a 3 speed manual transmission. Living most of it"s life in the High desert, it was never exposed to bad climate and as a result it it never had a chance to rust. Most everything added to the car is New. New parts include complete front end suspension along with a front disc brake conversion package, shocks at all 4 corners, new torsion bars, motor and transmission mounts, custom made drive shaft and U-joints. The rear leaf springs are from hotchkis and are super stock. Frame connectors are used to support the sub frames. The drivetrain starting from front to back consists of a stroked steel crank 440 out to 500 cubic inches with nothing but the good stuff used inside. The heads are Chrysler 915 castings with larger stainless steel valves and nicely done port work. We went with a Comp Cams solid roller cam in the mid 500"s for great streetability. A&A provided us with the crossram intake manifold and all nessassary parts to make the max wedge correct. We chose Edelbrock 500 cfm carbs, again for great streetability and on top we used K&N top and side breather air cleaners. We chose Mopar Performance Black finned Aluminum valve covers for just plain good looks. MSD was used to provide us with the Ready to Run distributer. A bit expensive, but they work Great. For the exhaust we went to Headers by Doug with 2 inch primary tubes into 3 1/2 inch collectors. They are bolted to 3 inch tube all the way back to the rear bumper. Cutouts were also added. ( if you want to make noise on the weekends ) When it comes down to cooling off the engine we used a 3 row 22 inch air conditioning radiator with the correct 2 piece Max Wedge steel shroud. It gets the job done quite well. A new centerforce flywheel and clutch assembly fit inside the scatter shield / Bell housing. We selected a Richmond 6 speed manual transmission to send power to the New Strange Dana 60 axle assembly. The 6 speed trans along with the 4.10 sure grip Dana make for a great combo on the track or the freeway ! A fresh E- Brake system was installed onto 11X3 inch rear brake drums, all new linings, hardware kits , wheel cylinders and lines were added. When it came to the fuel system , again we went all New. From the gas cap to the carbs, all new. New gas tank, sending unit, Carter electric fuel pump, all fuel lines from the tank foward new. The charging system is a bit overkill. Just like back in the day. We used an Interstate 8D XHD. This is a bus battery with 1200 cold cranking amps. rear mounted, up to a 60 amp. alternator. Plenty of power. As to the body. This car is unrusted. Taken down to metal , epoxy primed, and painted in Base coat - clear coat. The color is Lexus white and shows alot of depth. The rear bumper is original , and is beautiful. The front bumper had a couple of small dings in it, so we went with a New one. As you would expect, it looks New! All the exterior trim is Beautiful and polished out perfectly. The glass is also perfect. The front windshield is New. If you pay attention to the front turn indicators, you will see they are made of amber plastic, rather than clear. This is a HARD find. A company in Wisconsin made a run of these in amber and they really took off. I was lucky enough to find a set 15-20 years ago that I put away. I think they look Great on the car. The grill and bezels are also about as good as it gets. As to the interior. It"s all New, in dark red. From the carpet to the headliner , also about as good as it gets. The Instrument cluster looks as close to new as you would want. We added a set of NOS Stewart-Warner after market guages for that period look and for accuracy. We have close to 65 Thousand in receipts, and it shows it. There are probably plenty of things I have forgot to mention. Please call me before purchasing this car or with any questions you may have. This is truly a case where pictures do this car NO justice at all. Coming soon I will be listing my personal car . The 1968 Cool Vanilla Dodge Charger . This car is Unreal powered by a 500 inch stroker wedge. Thanks for looking and good luck.
