1963 Plymouth Savoy *RARE* Factory ISP 2dr. post Police Interceptor! Out of the Jasper, IN. post. Ordered new from Sternberg Plymouth (Jasper) Car call #7177 Vin #: 3931233078
I NEVER had any intention of EVER selling this car. Period.
But d ue to a recent (serious) car crash, i t is with NO joy that I am reluctantly posting my beloved "63 Savoy.
This car runs, drives and handles excellent! Shifts strong! YES. .it is fast! YES. .it is strong! Tracks straight and will run interstate speeds no problem.
PLEASE take time to read everything in this ad. I am VERY thorough and honest with my listings. I have an extensive history with this car dating back to the early 90"s.
Car was retired from ISP in the early 1970"s. It was then sold at a fleet car auction in Evansville, IN. to a young "street racer" who made a reputation for the car that remains legendary in local circles.
This car ended up in a local salvage yard and sat there along a fence row for about 25 years. Yard owned WOULD NOT SELL it or part it out! Everyone within 3 states of here tried to buy it (including me). Finally in the early 1990"s it was brought back to life to drag race. OEM style floor pans installed (not bad for the era). Frame was tied and a built 440 was installed to run 1/8th mile.
SO. .I found the car in 1998 "rolling" with the original button shift transmission in the trunk.
I bought it with NO title but the VIN was plate was still in tact.
*I NOW HAVE A CLEAN INDIANA TITLE IN MY NAME IN HAND. Car is plated and insured to me and I drive it everywhere!
The seller had the street 383 motor that came out of it included.
So this is how it sits today.
MOTOR/TRANS:
1969 L383 HP w/factory 727 Pushbutton trans. Holley street dominator intake New Eddy AVS II 750 cfm Mild Isky hydraulic street cam (not sure lift/duration). Headers and 2.5" Flowtech exhaust (sound AMAZING ) Mini gear reduction starter Mopar orange box electronic ignition system Original radiator (Car never runs hot. ALWAYS 190)
Front converted to Chrysler disc brakes (manual). New front and rear shocks (rear air) Original 8.75 rear end w/741 3:55 Posi (Sure Grip) Rebuilt driveshaft
INTERIOR:
All lights work properly (Hi/Lo, tail, brakes and twin dome lights) Aftermarket fuel gauge in original dash cluster. Aftermarket triple gauges for oil and temp. Moon tach Original rubber floor mat Seats are completely restored with high grade vinyl using original patterns. Door panels are original and rough
BODY:
Well, this car still wears (what"s left of) its original ISP Blue/White paint if that says anything about it. Basically, I would NOT call the car a prime "restoration" candidate and that is exactly why I love this car.
It tells its own story just as it sits and people crawl ALL over it!
The car has dents, bumps and bruises. Patina rust and misc. rust repairs from decades of passionate owners. There was a new drivers lower quarter installed at some point (ok job) The lower front fenders (both) have had some repairs. Trunk floor center area is spotty holes and thin spots.
I am absolutely certain there is more I can say about this car so feel free to call me anytime. Glad to tell you EVERYTHING about it inside and out. Good, Bad or Ugly! I can send any and ALL additional pics to you also if there are certain areas you want to see.
Thanks!
Real easy to buy from me. Just read/accept the conditions below and we"ll make it happen:
