1963 Plymouth Belvedere built by Grumpy Jenkins & Jenkins Performance in Chester County, PA. It was reported the car was part of the “Belvedere Project” - a program where Plymouth & Jenkins converted Belvederes into drag cars. The car, originally white, was raced in the Philadelphia area till the late 80"s when it was sold to a collector in AZ. The car was painted black and kept in a museum for 25 years. When the museum owner passed away, the car was sold at the Houston Mecum Auction in 2014.
The car has been very well cared for and seldom driven since being bought in 2014.
The original engine was freshened up last year and found that the Sig Erson cam has a lot number engraved. The cam was one of their first blower cams and the lot number was tied to an order from Jenkins Performance.
I have been a mechanic for the last 45 years, worked as a car chief and engine builder for many top winning drag cars. I have been involved in drag racing for a long time and knew of Grumpy Jenkins and his racing success. This car is well sorted and ready to go.
As always, if you need permission from your wife, significant other or preacher, make sure you ask before bidding.
If you have any questions, please ask them. I can make the car available for viewing by appointment.
