Vehicle description
Very rare true “A” code Presidential Black Lincoln with Trim code 96, Black and White Tuxedo interior with the rare AM/FM radio and AC options that was a real barn, where it was sitting for many years. The previous owner poured a concrete floor and had the car on wood blocks to avoid any moisture. To get the car running, the tank was drained and the following things were replaced: New battery, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, fuel filter, oil flush/change, oil filter, air filter, fluids, hoses, valve cover gaskets, fuel pump, rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor (the original carburetor is included in the sale). I have only driven the car in my neighborhood, it should have a good going over before I would put her on the road. The brakes work, but are stiff, 4 new wheel cylinders are included with the sale. The transmissions shifts well and was told that it was rebuilt years ago, the car tracks well for the very little that I have driver her. The body appears to have been prepared for paint, the sides and trunk are a flat/satin paint, the tops of the doors, the hood, flap panel and door jams still have the original paint, amazing for a 50 year old car. Some of the chrome is nice, but some, including the front bumper is pitted. The top is very nice, the rear window is extremely clear. The interior appear to be all original and freshened up, the white has definitely been freshened up, it is too clean no too have been. The rear headrest on the back seat has a poor repair of a split. The dash is very nice with a small crack to the left of the radio speaker. The original door panel wood is still nice as is the carpeting with the Lincoln heal pad. All windows work from all doors, including the vent windows. Not all of the gauges work, including the radio, but the horn works, all of the lights work including the turn signals, brake lights, headlights, high beams and even the door lights. The 6 way power seat works in all positions. The tires are radial tires, the tread looks new and they are not cracked or dry rotted. The top unlocks and locks, the flip panel works in both directions and the trunk lid screws in and out to lock and unlock the trunk lid. The pump is not working to lift the top, I purchased a new one that I am currently working to put it, hopefully it will fix the issue, but may need to flush the hoses for is sitting so long. The automatic rear widows work when the button is pushed, pretty neat. The exhaust has one new resonator, the other resonator and 2 mufflers look okay, but the rear pip I noticed has a small hole. The under carriage is great, the floor boards are solid with no signs of rust. The front pan brace has rust, see picture, an L bracked was purchased and will be included in the sale. Also included are several extra parts, chrome pieces, electric antenna, period correct licence plates, 24 page dealership brochure, 2 shop manuals, owners manual and even the build sheet. Please let me know if you need any other information or additional photos. Thank you for looking at this very special Lincoln.
