This beautiful 1963 Dart GT was built at the LA factory and lived in LA it"s whole life. We purchased from the son of the original owner 3 years ago. This classic MOPAR has been repainted in a factory correct 1963 Dodge Medium Blue, though it left the factory in White from what we could tell from the body tag. The newer single stage paintjob is more recent and was done with all trim and glass removed so it looks very clean and has a great shine. A new windshield and gaskets as well as all rubber and seals from Classic Industries were added after paint. The interior is as we bought it, redone in leather and is in great condition. The carpet appears older/original and does show wear in places but very presentable. There is no cancer but light surface rust underneath, and evidence of a few welded floor pan areas can be seen from the extremely clean and dry underside- not covered up with rubberized undercoating. Great solid classic and everything works as it should.
After purchasing, we immediately it to our mechanic for a top to bottom inspection before it became my son"s daily driver. New Pertronix electronic ignition along with spark plugs, cap, rotor, plug wires and coil. New gas tank and rebuilt original Carter BBS carb. Compression test between 144 and 151 psi in all cylinders. Fuel system was completely flushed as was radiator and heater core. Engine and transmission filers and fresh oil. Kenwood bluetooth stereo headset and new 6x9"s added by Al & Ed"s Autosound about 2 years ago. New rear shocks along with American Racing Torque Thrust wheels 15x7 in back and 15x6 in front with new Uniroyal Tiger Paws in 215/60 and 205/60 15 were added last summer and have about 4K miles on them. An alignment was done after new wheels and tires. Regular maintenance every 3 months since it doesn"t get a lot of miles. The battery was replaced earlier this year.
Pro"s: This "63 runs great and I would drive it anywhere. All gauges, lights and indicators work, charging system, etc. Trusted it to transport my son for the last 3+ years. It"s made 6 trips from San Diego to Santa Barbara and back over the last school year with no issues. Brakes straight, drives nice, looks beautiful. Pump the gas 2 times and she starts right up everytime. The pushbutton automatic 3 speed TorqueFlight is fun and easy to cruise in. Clear title, original black & yellow California plates, clean appearance and sleek lines of this unique GT always gets smiles wherever you go.
Con"s: The paint does have a small chip above front drivers headlight bezel. There are a few bubbles under the paint on the drivers rear wheel opening, and a slight imperfection in the drivers side rear quarter as seen in the pictures. The paint has never been cut and buffed to eliminate any imperfections seen in the right light but seems like not much attention was paid to blocking the car perfectly straight before painting. Some of the chrome trim, although very bright and shiny, shows it"s age more than others. Drivers side tail light is cracked and missing a piece. Trying to be up front and honest about it and everything I see as flaws. This is not a completely restored classic in concours condition- just a clean, presentable, well maintained, good running daily driver and head turner.
It"s been a very tough decision, but my son now needs money for the fire academy more than a car to drive, so he"s decided to sell his GT. Come pick her up and drive home! Straight auction with a lowered "buy it now" set for this appreciating classic car, and shipping is buyers responsibility. Lowered reserve set below the $9600 it reached in the first auction! We will work with any transport company you choose, or come and drive her home! Clean Title, Pink slip, original aluminum Dart keys, shop manual, and a few miscellaneous parts that came with the car included. We also have the original 13x5" steel wheels with original hubcaps that can go with the car if you like. This is now for sale locally and auction can end at any time - don"t miss out. Happy Bidding!
