Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 1963 Corvette, most of you probably already know this cars history but for those who do not I will try my best to explain. All of the current body mods were done in 1963 when the car had less than 100 miles on it. Other than a few color changes over the years and a interior update, the way it sits now in white is the way most people recognize it from the years it spent on display at the Peterson museum known as "Outer limits" Barris himself said in 1962 "A symmetrical was going to be the next big thing" It has a strong built V8 with a muncie 4 speed and a 336 posi rear. The amount of time and money spent in chrome and other one off parts done for this car, it was said the cost would be 200k to replicate it today. Chrome brake drums, chrome half shafts, chrome driveshaft, chrome tie rods, chrome upper and lower control arms, chrome steering column, chrome steering box, chrome 63' brake master, chrome shocks, chrome coil springs, chrome water pump and I am sure I am forgetting a lot more. Polished gas tank with drain in the bottom. Lots of custom engraving under the hood. All the wiring under the hood is ran through polished piping so no wires are exposed, all brake lines are also hidden. Ferrari style horns still blow loud! All the interior and trim is wrapped in white leather. A few more details about what makes the car so unique: The wheel wells were radiused and the fender tops were heightened and finned outward. Electrical solenoids replaced the shaved door handles, and side pipes were added. A custom screw gear mechanism was used to open the hood for show car displays. The doors have hidden poppers in the rear wheel wells, also buttons in the car to exit. Door gaps are beautiful, doors click shut. There is a switch in the center of the dash to raise and lower the hood. All of the digital gauges are working along with the clock on the glove box door. Many people have said the car should be driven but I believe it should be back on display in a museum again or in a private collection as a center piece. It amazes me how many people remember the full story on this car from the 60's when it was in Rod and custom magazine. It was voted best corvette in the country in 1965. I have many more pictures! Thanks for looking!AS always sold in as is condition with no warranty. Images Download the Motors app
