Vehicle description
For sale today I have a ONE OWNER 1963 Corvair Monza 2-door Club Coupe. This car was purchased my a gentleman new for his wife to drive. She drove the car for many years and when she upgraded to a newer car, this was parked in the garage. About 25 years ago, the gentleman made the decision to restore the car. For the next several years, he took the car completely apart, overhauled the engine, clutch, and transaxle. He completely undercoated the car, redid the brake system, installed a new fuel tank and sender and many other new parts then slowly got the car back together. He did an admittedly amateur body prep and repaint. He drove the car for only a short time and then passed away. The car sat, covered up for the next 20+ years before I saved it from certain destruction. I got the car home, cleaned the fuel system and rebuilt the carbs, tuned up the ignition system, put in a battery and she fired right up! the engine runs smoothly with no strange sounds or smoke AT ALL.I planned to use it as a parts car but, since it ran so well, I rebuilt the brake system at that point and they are now working fine. It starts right up, runs and drives like it did when new! Now the bad. . the paint suffered from being under a cover for so many years. It is cracked and crazing on the upper parts of the body. I only washed the car, so a good cleaning of the inside is in order and the tires hold air fine, but are old. BUT, the good is that it is a runner/driver, the brakes and drivetrain are very good, it is totally complete and EVERYTHING works. . including the radio. . . It is a good candidate for a parts car since it has so many new or rebuilt parts, driver with patina, rat-rod or whatever but perhaps best as a parts car. Just be aware this car sat for a long time and it does have rust, but don"t appear to be structrually severe. The floors appear to be original and solid or replacement pans installed VERY well. .I"m not sure. There are some places that look to be repaired due to dents or rust. again, not sure, but as a whole it don"t look too bad. If you are in the area, feel free to come and look at the car in person, just send me a message and I will make myself available for you. The shipping to your location is your responsibility. Remember, this car sat for over 20 years, so i"m not sure I would drive it cross country without some shake down time, but I realize some people like an adventure and would probably do fine. I have only put about 50 miles on it personally. An immediate deposit is due at auction close and payment in full within 7 days or before car leaves. . which ever comes first. I would like the car gone in a week after close or at least a transport set up. I will NOT accept a check, CASH only. If you have any questions, please sent a message thru Ebay via "contact seller", or contact me on my "sell" at area 71five. prefix 675, number 95 zero for. Thank you. BTW, I also have a 61 low mileage coupe, 64 Monza convert and a 65 Monza convert for sale. contact me for questions and details. I will be listing them in the future weeks.
