Vehicle description
Up for auction is my 1963 Buick Skylark Special Convertible project being sold as-is, where is in Mission, KS. I bought it back in 1997 to make it into a nice cruiser. The motor was the Buick v6 and it was locked up so it was pulled and it was setup for a sbc and 700r4. But life kept getting in the way and it just sat waiting inside my dad"s shop until I was finally able to bring it Kansas in 2015. It was in my garage until I took it a body shop class at the local community college this past spring. It was there that it turned into a full blown project.
We discovered that the car was orignally black and had been hit in the left rear corner. It also has had some work done to the passenger door bottom. I sourced a new to me drivers quarter panel and tail panel off a car in Texas and brought it to class with the intention of replacing it. But I wasn"t liking the way the instructor wanted to do it and so I started working on repairing the door bottom and thinking I could do the rest at home. Then I got promoted at my job just as I was finishing class and now, 6 months later, I have come to realization that completing this project is not going to happen. I lack the time and the skills to complete it the way it needs to be done.
It has the seats, but they need to be redone and it comes with all the interior panels, but the door panels are shot. There is no top and it is missing the two long pieces of trim that run down the side of the car. There are no holes for them currently, so I think when it got hit they were not replaced. It"s also missing the Buick emblem for the grill and the letters spelling out Buick across the hood. It has all the glass but the frame around the passenger side window is destroyed.
It is a rust free car, and despite the door bottom and quarter panel the rest of the car is pretty straight. The bumpers are straight and still look good despite being 54 years old. I"m happy to answer any questions you may have, and I encourage you to come take a look at if you can. Please do not bid if you"re not going to buy it. It has a clean Nevada title.
I require a $250.00 deposit via PayPal and the balance in cash when you pick it up within 7 days. If you can"t pick it up within 7 days, then let"s talk before you buy.
