Vehicle description

1962 Ford Econoline "Rudy"
-170 cu inline 6 -three on the tree -runs and drives descent
I bought this van out of Arizona area quite a few years ago as a project. The exterior was as it is now and the story I got when I bought the van was that the guy I bought it from found it on a farm and it was painted in blue house paint. He started sanding off the paint and found this really cool patina underneath so he spent a bunch of time carefully sanding it down to what it looks like today. Someone had put a small window in the rear section of the driver side, so he filled it with a piece of metal and very carefully tried to copy the patina. . and in my opinion he did a great job. You can see from the inside where the metal piece is if you look in the pictures. No one I have ever shown the car to has noticed a difference on the outside unless I point it out and you look very close. I do have some more history on the van I will share with the new owner. I even found a pencil in the ashtray engraved with Rudy"s Cleaners from back in the day.
It was missing a few parts including both front and back bumper and I was lucky enough to find the ones you see on the van in the pictures off two different vans in a junk yard. I removed them as you see them and its crazy how well they matched as all I did was clean them up and bolt them on. I did brakes, wiring, and went over the van pretty good about 4 or 5 years ago and got it inspected and Alberta registered, then I put it in a shipping container for a couple years and now decided since I don"t drive it, I would list it to see if anyone interested.
A few of the other things I did are: -rebuilt carb -replace speedo as old one wasn"t working -went through the rest of the gauges and I believe all are working -new light switch -new ignition switch -tranny fluid change -diff fluid change -new brake master cylinder -new parking brake cables -found and installed a foot window washer system with original fluid bag -replaced heater hoses -converted oil bath air cleaner to regular filter
The bad I would say: -Rust through in a couple places but none of any safety concerns in my mind -I never got around to getting keys to lock any of the doors (I always kept it inside) -has an oil leak yesterday when I drove it, but I will look into fixing that later this week hopefully -heater knob is missing but have never tried to use the heater anyway -seats are cool looking but not real comfortable
All in all I would say a very cool original patina van.
I will assist in shipping anywhere as long as it is paid for in advance. I do know a couple shippers who do ship from Canada to USA so could get you in contact with them. I can store it after Oct 1 for $150/month if it can"t be picked up right away.
