Vehicle description

Original, unrestored Imperial Crown Convertible, one of only 554 ever produced! This weekend driver comes with a push-button automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, power windows and top, and 6-way driver"s seat! It even has the power antenna, and a motorized radio station changer, operated by a button on the floor!
Advertised as "Americas Most Carefully Built Car", this car exudes sophisticated elegance! Each "62 Imperial as beautiful as it was unique!
Rarest of the series, the 1962 Imperial Crown Convertible represents the finest of Virgil Exner"s design features and engineering imagination, including: A "squared-off" steering wheel, space-age instrument cluster, free-standing, out-of-the-fenders headlights, a split front grill, and the "sparrow-strainer" gun sight taillights, mounted above the rear fenders. These are all features found only on the 1962 model!
These models were the last of the Imperials to be built at their own, individual Jefferson, MI production plant, as Chrysler"s top-of-the-line offering to affluent buyers!
Getting behind the wheel of this brilliant car makes you feel like the "King Of The Road"! It"s also a real attention getter!
The torsion bar suspension rides the road superbly! A factory front sway bar and huge, 129" wheelbase, make it handle the bumps and curves with ease! In fact, of all of the collector cars I"ve owned in the past 40 years, none of them corner better than this Imperial, grand praise for a vehicle in this weight class!
I have the factory 1962 service manual, and some nice advertisement literature, that comes with the car.
Please feel free to call with questions, or to to see this rare car in person! Thanks for looking!
