Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1961 Oldsmobile Starfire is a project vehicle. The owner has had it for 2 years. The vehicle is drivable and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Buyer is responsible for shipping Vehicle Details “This is a ~59 year old car that runs and drives, but has some cosmetic issues. Not responsible if I've missed anything.” Up for auction today is a 1962 Oldsmobile starfire hardtop. The car was purchased from California and appears to be completely rust free from what I can tell. The car also looks to be pretty straight, the only thing I can think of is the shroud around the drivers headlight has been pushed in a little so it doesn’t line up properly with the front bumper, but the car comes with two straight shrouds (one for each side) which looks to be held in place with 4 nuts/bolts or so. The paint on the car is not original, or in that great of shape. The car has an aluminum radiator installed and it comes with the original radiator as well. The car is not very pretty, but it would make running and driving project car, or you can drive it as is, as kind of a “patina” car. As for the interior, the dash is cracked up and the headliner should be replaced, but the seats are in great shape, so it would not be uncomfortable at all to drive as is. The carpet also seems to be in pretty decent shape as well. All the windows work except the drivers front window, it goes down, but not back up. The previous owner supplied a “new” window switch with the car, but we haven’t tried to dig into the issue at all or install the switch. That being said, in our ownership, the car had always been stored in a heated shop up until last summer, when we purchased a convertible, and chose to move this out so the convertible had a good roof over it. But, the car was always kept under a nice, water proof car cover since it was moved outside. We also Just installed a NOS AC Delco fuel pump and the car starts and runs great. It will come with the box and original fuel pump that we took off the car. All extra parts will be included with the purchase of the vehicle, and will be located in the trunk. *buyer is responsible for shipping* In Closing: The above description is my observations and opinions and they vary from person to person so ask all questions prior to bidding. If I have missed anything in the cars description it was not my intention so please ask for as much detail as you need to make an informed decision on the car prior to bidding. Don't want the winning bidder saying afterwards well you missed this or that. Be a responsible bidder and ask all questions prior to bidding. Not responsible if I've missed anything. I'm not an expert and my opinion of the car may vary from yours so please look at the photos closely and if you need more information or any extra photos please ask prior to bidding. I want the winning bidder to be satisfied with the car when it arrives. Due to the cars age and having no way to warranty the car I'm selling it in "As Is" condition and mileage exempt.
