This is a very nice 1961 Corvette that looks, runs and drives very well. I am listing for the owner who has owned this car for the last 17 years. However, but due to health reasons he has decided to sell it. The original 283 engine has been replaced with a 350 400HP V8 from Zip Corvette. The transmission is a 3 speed with overdrive from Keisler Transmissions that was designed for the car. The linkage and drive shaft is also from Keisler. I have the paperwork with the details and specs for the engine and trans. The car has front disc brakes and electric power steering as well. The rear is original to the car. This Corvette had its first repaint 2 years ago and it looks great and it cost approximately $10k. The tires were installed the same time the car was repainted and they have approximately 1000 miles on them. The owner can only think of the following few things that do not work. The parking brake does not hold in the on position, heater doesn"t work because it needs a heater core which has been bypassed, and the tachometer doesn"t work because it needs to be converted from mechanical to electronic. Zip Corvette sells the conversion to repair the tach for $159.00. Included in the sale are the following , a car cover, owners manual, and Chassis Manual. This 61 Corvette was built to be a very nice and enjoyable car to drive. The power steering, disc brakes, electronic ignition, and automatic with overdrive makes it a great car for cruising and more highway compatible. The owner said he would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere and its ready for the next owner to enjoy. The car is located in Middletown MD 21769 and being sold as is. The owner would like a $200 deposit within 24 hours of end of auction. Remaining balance due either by cash in person or preferably a bank wire transfer.
