Vehicle description

Vehicle Details 1961 Chevrolet C-40 Apache Flat Bed truckNO RESERVE! This is just a good 'ol truck, for lots of different uses. This one would be great for local parades, perfect for use on a small working farm, or farmers market, pumpkin patch, yard work/landscaping, or even a great father son project, as it is running/operating, but would be perfect to teach a kid the basics of mechanics. Stored in a barn in New Mexico for most of it life. Located in California Now. First of all, just a basic overview of old vehicles in general, if you have never had one - these are not 60mph down the highway machines, they require some maintenance, as they are decades old, common issues with any old vehicle - points, plugs, wires, brakes, lights, etc. - this is a great old truck, I just want you to know what to expect. If you like tinkering on projects, these are a lot of fun. This particular truck is very solid, with very little rust. Floors are solid, and it is pretty straight also. There are some dings here and there, as it was used on the farm, but very presentable. It appears that this truck had a paint job - many years ago, and it actually gives it a great old patina look. When the truck was cold I pulled the choke, pumped the gas a couple of times, and it fired right up. Engine sounds good, and carries good oil pressure. The engine is the original Chevy engine, appears to be a 235. The brakes work, but need some adjustment. Muffler is blown out and leaks(not real loud). Windshield seal has shrunk and needs to be resealed. Seat needs to be reupholstered. Bed could use new lumber. Tires are old, but will probably last a long time for local use. Most of the lights work. Overall it is just a great old truck with a great look. It will come with a clean New Mexico. I am fine with truck sitting here a while so you can find a good deal for shipping. If you are picking up - I hauled it home on an 18ft trailer with a 1 ton pickup - and it hauled nice. Cash preferred although a wire transfer is okay if you are having it shipped. Please call with any questions - Thanks and Good luck! Images Download the Motors app
