Vehicle description

1961 Belair 4dr sedan - excellent project sleeper / ratrod / restomod in progress. .
The conversion was started back in the late 90s by the previous owner, u sing parts from an 87 GTA Trans AM, 350 TPi and 700R and disc brake rear end transplanted into a 61 4dr Belair that had been sitting here in the desert climate for many years. Pretty well done as far as I can tell. I bought the vehicle three or four years back (I forget!) and have been repairing and customizing it ever since. It"s been a personal project. Whether you like the direction or not, a lot of the preparation work has been done and you may well want to rip stuff out and start again.
There"s a general video here : https:/ youtu.be/h7ZuY-HPUx4 and two subsequent videos showing the interior and exterior, links late in this description.
Most all the hard stuff is done. Now its finishing the loose ends. I"ve driven it from time to time for fun. When the front brake conversion was done, not by me, so where most of the front bushings and misc. suspension components were too, but never aligned. On the rear suspension the correct springs where never installed. After the rear end was installed and new lines ran for the brakes etc. by the previous owner, the car stops well enough. There is no park/emergency brake, I made up a make shift bracket to put a rod through the brake pedal to park it!
ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN: the Motor runs well and trans shifts just fine, but the linkage still needs some adjusting, sometimes it doesn"t want to stay in park and rolls a little until it catches. Touch the key and it fires and runs wells. Idles fine. Good power and throttle response. I"ve done nothing to the setup since. All new HT leads and plugs. New air filter.
INTERIOR: A lot of work on custom door panels, brand new seat covers and foam as well as carpets . Original headliner in pretty amazing shape with just a few small tears. Most of the metal work has been painted matte black, including the original rear view mirror. Original steering wheel, refurbished, matte black. New weather stripping on all doors. New floor pans welded and sealed on both front seat wells and the one rear that needed it. I removed the back seat upright altogether to show the double VV frame with back lighting, but I have the frame and seat cover, which are included. New kick plates and vent covers.
Video of the interior here: https:/ youtu.be/fkv87EfXrTg
EXTERIOR: the body pretty straight for its age, its still wearing a lot of its original green paint, or what was left of it. I sanded the whole car and sprayed the bottom panels matte black. A matte clearcoat has been sprayed on the patina and bare metal. The roof has been sprayed matte white, but isn"t great and has a small dent. All the glass is good and seems to be original. Bondo on the front driver fender and rear passenger corner from minor accident damage at some point in its life. New repro emblems front and rear, original side emblems. New mirrors. Duplicate aerial.
Video of the exterior here: https:/ youtu.be/5zRbxuWrmN0
ELECTRICS: Headlights are original and work, all the other electrics have been rewired using custom LED fittings. See both videos for examples. LED rear lights and brake lights. Rear fenders include LED lights. Front driving lights are an LED strip designed for the rear of a truck, using the reverse lights. Blinkers are really cool LED sweeping lights. Interior lights are a mix of LED strip lighting along all the door trim and back lit rear seat uses blue LED strip. New tachometer and mechanical temp. gauge. GPS speedometer/odometer. No idea of original mileage. Original fuel gauge apparently worked, but is currently disconnected.
SUSPENSION: the front has apparently had a lot of work done to it, including 72 Chevelle style I think front disc conversion. Rear end is rear disc from the 87 TA. Needs correct rear coils. The conversion for the rear looks pretty decent, and a new anti roll bar has been installed.
WHEELS: are 15x7 front and 15x8 GM Rallys. Tires are newish and hardly used, maybe 100 miles at most. I swapped out the rears for genuine Centerline and they have brand new tires. All six wheels and tires come with the vehicle.
There"s so much, I"m happy to talk talk to you if you"re serious, so just contact me with your cell number. I have lots more photos I can send a link to. If you"re not serious, please don"t bid. I"ve had a lot of no pay people recently on ebay with vehicle "winners" (losers).
